Dr. Derene Akins is a 1978 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia. She completed her residency in internal medicine in 1981 and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Akins also has additional certification in geriatric medicine.
Jeremy Avila, MD, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics
Dr. Avila graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He returned to Memphis to join Consolidated Medical Practices of Memphis.

Dr. Reuben Avila has been in practice in Memphis since 1981. Dr. Avila graduated from Temple University School of Medicine in 1978 and then completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Tennesee. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
John Buttross, MD, Internal Medicine
Dr. John Buttross is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 1981. He earned his bachelor's from Mississippi State University. Dr. Buttross completed his internal medicine residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis & has been in practice since 1984.
He served as president of the medical staff at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in 1999 and Chief of Staff in 2001. Dr. Buttross currently serves on the MetroCare and HealthChoice boards and is a member of the American College of Physicians, Shelby County Medical Society, and Tennessee Medical Association.
Tommy Campbell, MD, Internal Medicine
Dr. Campbell attended Delta State University and graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 1983. He completed his residency training in internal medicine at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis, and in 1986, served as chief resident in his field. In 2013, Dr. Campbell attended Auburn University and earned his MBA. Dr. Campbell is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Campbell currently serves as the President of the board for CMPM and is president of the Memphis Medical Society.
Arthur Franklin, MD, Internal Medicine
Dr. Franklin received his bachelor's from the University of Memphis in 1987 where he was a member of the varsity football team. After graduating, Dr. Franklin attended the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and earned his diploma in 1991. He then continued his training in internal medicine at the University of Tennessee where he was chief resident from 1994-1995. Dr. Franklin is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has received a Patients' Choice Award and Compassionate Doctor Recognition both in 2012.

Dr. Van Rushing earned his bachelor's from the University of Tennesee, Martin and graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 1978. Kathy Lohman, FNP
Mrs. Kathy Lohman is a life long Memphian (Hutchison High School '98). Mrs. Lohman is a 2002 graduate of Rhodes College where she played varsity basketball and graduated with a degree in biology. Mrs. Lohman is a 2005 graduate of Vanderbilt University where she obtained a Master of Science in Nursing. Mrs. Lohman is a board certified family nurse practitioner and a member of the American Associate of Nurse Practitioners. She is married to Justin Lohman and they have one daughter.
Tara Holt, FNP
Mrs. Tara Holt is a 1983 graduate of Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. In 1999 she attended Graceland College where she graduated with a baccalaureate degree in nursing. Mrs. Holt then received her Master of Science in Nursing earning her the title of family nurse practitioner. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the Advanced Cardiac Life Support, the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educator, and the State of Tennessee Health Related Boards.
Cindy Katz, DNP, Internal Medicine
Dr. Cindy Katz graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas in 1981. In 2006 she graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee. In 2013, Dr. Katz earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Tennessee. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and is board certified by the American Academy of Nursing.

Mrs. Tammy Taylor graduated from the Baptist Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1981. She attended the University of South Alabama, and in 2009, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She continued her education to earn a Master of Science in Nursing in 2010.
Brianna Campbell, NP
Ms. Brianna B. Campbell is a compassionate Registered Nurse that focuses on providing holistic treatments for patients while also being able to provide excellent medical care independently. Ms. Campbell earned her Associates Degree of Nursing, with honors in May, 2010. Three years later she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Christian Brothers University with a Bachelors in Nursing Science. The following year she attended Union University and she now holds a Master of Science in Nursing degree (Family Nurse Practitioner Track). She is a board certified family nurse practitioner & a certified in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Ms. Brenda Garner is a 1979 Magna cum Laude graduate of Harding College with a Bachelor degree in Science in Nursing. In 1987 she attended the University of Tennessee where she graduated Summa cum Laude with a Masters degree in nursing. Ms. Garner then received her Post-masters certificate in Family Nurse Practitioner. She has earned over 7 certifications and licensers and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Ms. Garner has received the Outstanding Clinical Instructor Award at the U of M three times.
